Orthopaedics & Traumatology also includes congenital disorders, infections, tumors, arthritis, neurological disorders, and degenerative disorders. Diagnostic and therapeutic options also vary, from routine physical examinations to an advanced and invasive diagnostic tools. Each of the scope of the Orthopaedic and Traumatology are can be faced by the general practitioners on daily health services.

Additional knowledge and training in the field of Orthopaedics & Traumatology is necessary due to very limitted time during the clinical education periode. With a limited teaching time, in which only averagely 1 week spent, it results in less exposure to medical updates as well as opportunities practicing basic medical skills of Orthopaedic & Traumatology. With a strong knowledges and proper skills, it is hoped that general practitioners can give optimal and excellent services for Orthopaedic & Traumatology cases, both in the emergency department and outpatient care.
